Little Man – Poem #20

Little Man – Poem #20

Hey little man, don’t you cry
Don’t let society control your life
Children play while soldiers fight
Just put headphones on, sing along
To a song as this life goes awry

Hey little man, hold your head up
For the lonely nights get better
Loneliness doesn’t submit to pressure
When all that’s sweet leaves again
And everything you taste is bitter

Hey little man, all that you have is you
Soon you’ll realise grown men cry too
And all you’ll ever own is the truth
So, wipe the tears, wave away the fear
Because you have nothing left to lose,
but you, my brave little man
